Valerie Murphy was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has had a passion for story telling since she was a little girl. For the past ten years, she has focused on raising her three children with her husband in Oakdale, California. She writes screenplays, children's stories and poetry. She recently finished her third book, The Gumshoes: Rogues Hollow Crossing, which is the second installment of the new series, The Gumshoes. It will be available in December 2013. She is currently working on her first YA novel with her daughter Brenna, who is a senior at Oakdale High School.
