Not as good as the first. It didn't match the beautiful atmosphere of the first book enough for me, and I didn't care for the characters and tone the way I did following Kaye and her allies and enemies. I'm looking forward to book three, when I get to read from Kaye's perspective again.

For such a short book, I found it a slow start to get to the good stuff – you know, the urban fantasy part that had me check the book out. There were some rough and hurried parts to this book, but it won me over, in the end. Mostly I appreciated the frailty of its main character: her struggle with addiction, betrayal, and general human weakness. I loved the fact that despite those weaknesses, she girds her loins and follows through w...

Not quite as good as 'Tithe,' I thought, but I still enjoyed this very much.Val, a teen from New Jersey, runs away when she finds out that her mom has been having an affair with her boyfriend. In shock, she goes to NYC, and falls in with some squatter kids living in the subway tunnels. The best part ...

There was an age, when I devoured all the Borderland books and also Go Ask Alice, when I think I would have been intrigued and slightly titillated by this. That age was approximately eleven. As an adult, it didn't really work for me. The problem started very early on, when something terrible happens ...
