Didn't have much time for reading this week, but I somehow inhaled the entire rest of the Black Sun's Daughter Series on my morning train rides, and I loved it. Pretty much all the things I was a bit iffy about in the first book were resolved, either by solving the problem or by lampshading them and...

I'm pissed, royally pissed, (as in angry, not drunk) and I can't tell you why because it doesn't happen until the end of the book. But I'm angry enough that I may not read the next one; I hated the ending that much. I was close to tears with anger and sorrow. Until the end, this was a solid story al...

"Be Careful With What You Wish For" -- and man, how it does in this case. See, when the first chapter brings Kim (Aubrey's ex-wife) back, I cheer inside because I want her to be part of the troop again. My selfish reason is because I want her back with Aubrey, giving a chance for Ex to make a move o...

3.5 StarsLike a punch to the gut, you are taken by surprise, feet kicked out from under you, gasping for air, and mind reeling. After some revelations about the mysterious Eric are discovered more than one of our characters will feel this way. JaynÉ, Aubrey, Chogyi Jake and Ex are called in as reinf...

An almost unexpected ending aside from the nagging thought in your mind that was finally calmed by the revelation. The convolutions of motivations and the horrific truths revealed were handled beautifully. Overall the book is a wonderful continuation of Jayne's tale.

I suppose the best way to describe this book is to say that it is about the loss of Jayné's innocence. With Y.A. you get young protagonists and if the author is good, over a series of books you get to see the protagonist mature to someone who is less angst ridden and sure of themselves. When we f...

This was another great Jayne book. I was very surprised by the twist on old uncle Eric, it made me sad but at the same time, I wondered if Jayne was the reason for what he did. I was also really surprised by the change in Jayne...the decisions she faced and the choices she made...wow! Can't wait to ...

In this book things get out of hand for our little self-made family. One member even comes back into the fold. And although Janyé is growing, she still hasn't found out exactly who she is. However, one of the gods in her world falls and she doesn't know if she will ever be the same. She has to now f...

In Vicious Grace we once again follow Jayné and her crew as they battle evil. This time however, there are a lot more complications. As if Jayné's life couldn't get anymore complicated, right? M.L.N. Hanover throws the reader a ton of new information to digest in this installment. Love triangles, hi...

I liked this one...a lot! I got into the story way more than the previous books bc I could relate more with the characters. Jayné has accepted her new destiny and is happy for the first time in her life. She has a loyal bunch of friends, a sweet and loving boyfriend and money beyond her wildest drea...
