The Haunted House Next Door contains a little more gross-out humor than I prefer in my books. I did like the resourcefulness of both Desmond and Andres though. And the circular nature of the book works well to draw readers into the story.

Great book to read along with a child, it is a novel completely in verse.My grandgaughter and I are reading it over the phone together each fromour own copy.
I don't have a problem with a novel written in rhyme, at all. But I got into it a bit and just didn't feel that compulsion to pick it up again after laying it down.
