Northern California poet Victoria Forrester is best known for her lyric poetry. Published in a gentler time under the watch of legendary editor Jean Karl, she is author and illustrator of eight books of poetry and original tales, picture books and word play from Atheneum in New York. Her poetry appears in collections by Lee Bennett Hopkins and Jack Prelutsky and was selected for inclusion in the Knopf Treasury of 20th Century Children's Poetry.The California native grew up in Los Angeles, where she attended UCLA graduating with a BA in English, an MLS (library science) and an MA in art. She and husband Alan are parents of a grown son and grandparents of one grandson all of whom share her love of poetry and wordplay.New pathways are opening in publishing today. Under her own imprint, Scriptoria Victoria, perhaps one day the magic will be re-Kindled.
