Hi. I am W. Chad McPhail. I have been a writer since birth. Unravel my DNA and you'll find my life story laid out in paragraph form. I've published poetry, stories, articles and books on the outdoors - particularly fly fishing - for over a decade. Google "W. Chad McPhail" to locate my blog, 'In Search of Wild Trout," and many online resources for anglers.Today, "story" is far a more important part of my writing's identity. With friend and co-author, Mark D. Williams, we've found that "story" is everywhere, especially when we fish together. As an English teacher for almost 10 years, instructing others in the art of writing helped me hone my own skills. I co-wrote "Colorado Flyfishing: Where to Eat Sleep Fish," a guide book which chronicles a zany, summer-long trek across the Centennial State, as Williams and I attempt to fish every trout hole possible along the way. I'm also co-author of "49 Trout Streams of Southern Colorado" in which I showcase many of my favorite photos of fly fishing in Colorado.Next book out is "An Introduction to Fly Fishing for Trout" - a pragmatic, pain-free approach to getting new fly fishers on the water and catching fish quickly. This book, also co-written with Williams, will be in full-color and a ton of fun to read, with lots of sequence shots and easy-to-follow descriptions of on-the-water tactics and techniques we feel are essential.I am currently working on a novel, as well as two more co-authored books fly fishing books with Williams!
