Maybe I didn't like the first issue because so much has been done with Project X, and even Wolverine, that it felt like mining his death, mining this project, and I didn't want anymore. Maybe it was because I didn't expect Daken to show up, and I really hate his character. Whatever it is, I def...
Salvation Run is definitely a book from the villain viewpoint. It's interesting to see that vantage point, if well done. I think this was mostly well done, although I never felt much sympathy for the villains (except for when they threw the mortally wounded guy to the ravenous predators, which was j...
Never tell a hardcore DC fan that you think the Flash rogues gallery is a bit of a joke. Or rather, maybe you should, because then they might loan you this book. The Flash's Rogues are all working together, and that means a world of hurt for Wally West. But they are only one half of the "crossfire...
I’ve always been a fan of Superman, the myth: that is, the mythical idea behind Superman—the alien who is the last of his kind, who grows up in the similarly ‘mythical’ setting of small-town America, and becomes a champion of the common man. Unfortunately, once past this point there isn’t a lot you...
Could you imagine if Superman landed in Canada instead of the United States? What if Joe Shuster tried to persuade Jerry Siegel that Clark Kent should grow up on a farm in Alberta or the snowy terrain of northern Manitoba? Or God help us, Newfoundland? But once you get past the halfway point of the second volume, and into the ground the movie didn't cover, the ...
I'll do a full review after I've read the whole series. It is kind of hard to separate my memories of the movie from the manga, especially since they (obviously) use the same art style. I had thought that I'd read this years ago, but it doesn't match my memories at all. Maybe I'd read some kind of a...
(A) I don’t like Superman.(B) This is the best Superman story I’ve ever read.Twelve hours. That’s all it would have taken to change the course of history and turn the Superman we have grown up with into someone entirely different – or is he that different after all? In Red Son, the capsule from Kryp...
Very original and several interesting ideas/twists going on in this work. A couple things could have been slightly tweaked to make this one a 5 star for me, but that aside, I still thoroughly enjoyed the novel. I can confidently say that this one impressed me.
