Enjoyed this tale, it had action, romance and a little bit of magic thrown in. The H & h were a very good match. A nice strong heroine. Great bad guys.Excellent light read, will definitely be on the lookout for more books by this author.

Still cleaning up my database one old review at a time. I must have started and stopped this book at least twenty times or so in the past few months, always putting it aside for something more pressing. I chalked it up to being over-extended but when I finally had a day to lounge around and do not...

I liked that this was set somewhere different (in this case Mongolia). I enjoyed Thalia and the fact that she was not TSTL. I loved that she was able to save herself at the end of the book. I would have liked to have had less staring/watching/looking between Thalia and Gabriel. I also thought Ga...

I would like this book WAY better if it wasn't attempting to be a historical fantasy. From what I can tell it is not intended as alternative history, and that causes most of my issues with this book. It's just too anachronistic. The language is incredibly modern, except perhaps for some of the oa...

This book was okay, I'd say about a 2.5 star showing. It's definitely more of a romance novel than a fantasy/paranormal/urban fantasy novel (or however you'd define it), which is fine, but I thought it'd be a bit more balanced going in.The main problem with this book was that there's nothing particu...

I loved this series starter though I do hope future installments expand the steampunk thing. I find the geegaws and gadgets they create fascinating and hope that Catallus Graves brings many more interesting items to bear. I loved the hero, Gabriel Huntley. He's one of those ex-military guys who a...

I don't dislike the book, really, but it reminds me of why I don't read PNR. The romance or the paranormal story or both gets shortchanged. In this case, it's both.Well, this has sat on my currently-reading shelf for a year now, and I still can't be bothered to pick it back up. I think it's safe to ...

Solid three star adventure with a sexy hero, strong heroine and a cool mystical society tasked with protecting magical 'Sources' from the bad guys. The romance was very satisfying (see: strong heroine, above) and the setting so beautifully done. I don't know much about Mongolia, but Zoe took me ther...

On the plus side of this new series, high adventure and, eventually, romance. On the negative side, if you aren't in the mood for high adventure... it's hard to force yourself to read about it.On the less believable side, a commoner ends up with an officer's rank (historically, they were purchased...
