This was a fantastic collection of post-apocalyptic science fiction stories. You might think that this many post-apoc stories in one place would make for a pretty dismal, depressing anthology, but you'd be wrong. There's plenty of hope and joy in some of these stories, too. I've read more depressing...

I don't really have much to say about this one. I bought it years ago and just now got around to reading it. I love post-apocalyptic stories, but some in this collection weren't the best, in my opinion. Some were fantastic, and I discovered a couple new authors to read, but for the most part, this c...

The strength of this collection is its variety–you are virtually guaranteed to find at least one story that gives you a whole new perspective on what it means to be at the end and at least one story that you hate so much that you wish the apocalypse would come early for it.

If you're looking for a good, solid anthology of post-apocalyptic short stories, then this book is awesome. I've seen complaints that this book is too sci-fi or not sci-fi enough or that the stories aren't well fleshed out, and I think it's unfair. This is a collection of short stories, not a col...

Usually, if you're lucky, anthologies have a couple of gems mixed in with the filler. This book is an exception - it is truly exceptional. Kudos to the editor - this is a truly A-list group of authors, contributing excellent stories. Nearly all are top-notch. Highly recommended.

A great collection of stories from some authors I've heard of and some brand new to me. If you like stories of life after the "Big One", or the horrors of a life surrounded by pestilence and disease, pick this up. If you think you could be one of the survivors or one of the mutants that are left, re...
