Wayne G. Miller was born in Boston just a quarter mile from Fenway Park. His family moved to Quincy when he was one year old. He has many memories of family excursions over the Fore River Bridge hoping the bridge would be open so he could see a ship sailing out to sea. For 25 years he owned an antiques and collectibles business specializing in postcards, rare books, sports, movie, and political memorabilia.Mr. Miller has lived in Maryland since 1975 but never forgot where he came from. After retiring, he wanted to know more about the city he grew up in. He began buying history books on Quincy and collecting old postcards of the city. Finding several postcards of the Fore River Shipyard in its infancy would lead to a compilation of a postcard history of the shipyard.Mr. Miller is a member of the Quincy Historical Society, Braintree Historical Society, The United States Naval Shipbuilding Museum and Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.
