I like this book a lot, but not as much as when I first read it. I was younger then, and awed by anything fantastical. Now I'm able to see the flaws: the writing was thin, and it was a bit slow starting up, and some of the characters needed help.Still, this book is definitely good. It's charming. An...

Medieval fantasy has always been a favorite genre of mine. I guess this started with Tolkien and Lewis, and ever since I've loved this type of book. A tale akin to 'The Chronicles Of Narnia' and 'The Neverending Story' in that the protagonist gets, transported to and embroiled in rectifying a 'situation' in an alternate reality -- also in which personal strengths are discovered and character development takes place.

Excellently written, with an amazing plot that contains plenty of twists, and an ending that leaves you hungry for more. In my opinion, this is an even better Christian allegory than "Chronicles of Narnia" or "Lord of the Rings," in part because it's much more readable. Great stuff!

Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia, is set in a modern day world where Aidan Thomas lives a very boring life. Now, in my opinion, the book doesn't get very good until Aidan enters a place called The Re...

This was a good fantasy action adventure young adult novel. Some of the situations stretched believability just a bit, but I put that down to the intended audience's attention span and naivety. The story is a Christian allegory, done very well. It's almost as good as The Book of Three by Lloyd Al...
