Early in the book Gourevitch addresses the reader: "Perhaps, in examining this extremity with me, you hope for some understanding, some insight, some flicker of self-knowledge - a moral, or a lesson, or a clue about how to behave in this world: some such information. I'm really glad I read this book after reading "Killing Pablo" by Mark Bowden. This account of the genocide in Rwanda was everything I wanted it to be. But it's just facts and jumps all over the place - I can't keep track of who is who and what is going on. I'm probably 50 pages in...
