Very slow beginning with a lot of flashbacks. Loved the second part, but could have easily done with 30 extra pages, since the ending was somewhat abrupt. Grif is always either angry or jealous or otherwise insecure. Very unstable. I was afraid for him sometimes, and because of that for Lio, too. 3....

I enjoyed this because I needed a real ending to An Uncommon Whore. It had a fun Star Wars feel to it. I loved the ending. I like McBride's style of writing. Bravo.

We get to read Giffin's pov. Must say, I could have skipped it. The one glaring observation I made about Giffin, didn't he know once Helios became King there was no way possible their relationship could remain the same. Instead of embracing the change, he went into self-pity mode.
