This review was written with the help of Mrs. Julien's romance review template (tm). When the Duke was Wicked is a romance of the "friends to lovers" variety. The hero and heroine have known each other since they were young, as their families are very close. The heroine and the hero's younger siste...

The story itself was absolutely fine, as was the writing, but I never felt any chemistry between Grace and Henry - which is a pity because I had high hopes after having read about them in Falling Into Bed With A Duke. I knew it was hopeless, but I thought Grace would be better off really moving on...
A History Nut's Romantic State of Mind
The book started out alright but quickly descended into mediocrity. The heroine Grace is so transparent that I cringed to read about her "innocent questions" about love and lust. I mean anyone could see that Grace was using her quest for love in marriage as an excuse to get close to Lovingdon. Only ...

Another book I was really looking forward that sadly didn't live up to my expectations. The middle dragged horribly. I didn't really connect with the characters that much and I got really sick of Lovingdon's denial. [spoiler] I understand his reasons but JFC, 70% in and we still have to pretend you ...

Though this is the first book of this spin-off series, it didn't seem like it. Many characters were mentioned as if we already knew them. Perhaps if I had read the Scoundrels of St. James books first this wouldn't have been a problem, but I didn't, and it was. I didn't care much for Grace or Lovi...

This review is chock full of spoilers because some of the issues it addresses like dealing grief and guilt over the death of loved ones as well as all the attending comparisons of a first love to the second love interest are where I had the most problems. I did like most of When The Duke Was Wicked,...

Actual rating: 3.5 So maybe I cried a little bit. I swear to god it's not THAT type of tear-jerker book, but one paragraph just hit me hard. Before I knew it, my nose was stinging, my eyes were watering, and to my absolute horror, I felt a single tear slipping down my cheeks. DAMMIT. There was abs...

They want her to find true love, the same love they have for each other. So Grace goes to Lovingdon for his help. Grace is worried than any suitor she ...

First peak from Lorraine Heath's Facebook page: A little more info about WHEN THE DUKE WAS WICKED. Yes, it is a new series - The Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James. Although you may remember Henry (Duke of Lovingdon) as the little boy in [b:Between the Devil and Desire|4838188|Between the Devil and D...
