I am on such an adult romance kick right now and I'm a bit obsessed with the KGI series by Maya Banks. They are all so much fun and a quick read. Definitely not something that's necessarily a "well written" read but I so enjoy it for what it is, trashy romance. Nathan is trapped in a cave being t...

This one has some paranormal elements to it. It could be argued that it’s more like ESP than paranormal, since paranormal is vampires and werewolves and there are no vampires or werewolves in this series, but the addition of Shea to the characters (and her sister, Grace, although we haven’t really ...

REVIEW Whispers in the Dark Author: Maya Banks Series: A KGI Novel #4 Genre: Romantic Suspense I honestly did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. The paranormal twist to the story threw me for a loop at first, as this is a romantic suspense series, but it totally worked and I think...

I wasn't sure about the paranormal element in what was a romantic suspense series. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. It does end with someone still missing and I assume the next book will pick up right where this one left off. I enjoy the "togetherness" in this family. They do a good job su...

Excellent, if a little predictable, I liked this story about a man who is in enemy hands trying to escape, and he does escape in his mind into the mind of a woman who can help, she eases his pain and helps him cope. Although it puts her at risk she sends some emails that help him be rescued. After...

3 1/2 stars. This was kind of an excruciating read, because both main characters are put through a lot -- though not throughout the entire book, thank goodness. It was very exciting, suspenseful and emotional. I also really liked that the super devoted, protective hero is paired with a strong woman...

A really creative story with a very powerful beginning and such a strong bond between hero and heroine. Again the closeness of the KGI family in the series is so enjoyable. While Nathan is being tortured as a prisoner of war Shea reaches him telepathically to give him encouragement.

At first, I was kinda upset with this book because it took a paranormal turn out of the blue. The series started set in a realistic world with lots of action, well developed unique story lines, and strong females that changed with this installment (and the next) by adding a paranormal angle that fel...
