For many years he was host, programmer and producer of the live "cult movie cabaret" (B movies, live bands and burlesque) "Thrillville."Viharo's unclassifiable œuvre includes the genre-mashing grindhouse noir A MERMAID DROWNS IN THE MIDNIGHT LOUNGE; the Runyonesque fable CHUMPY WALNUT; the exploitative crime satire DOWN A DARK ALLEY; the sexually charged confessional LAVENDER BLONDE; the bizarro pornographic horror novella FREAKS THAT CARRY YOUR LUGGAGE UP TO THE ROOM; the erotic sci-fi epic IT CAME FROM HANGAR 18 and the retro sci-fi saga/cocktail recipe book THE SPACE NEEDLER'S INTERGALACTIC BAR GUIDE (both with Scott Fulks); and the quirky mystery romance LOVE STORIES ARE TOO VIOLENT FOR ME, first in the "Vic Valentine, "Private Eye" series, recently reissued by Gutter Books, optioned for a feature film by Christian Slater.Four subsequent books in the Vic Valentine series - FATE IS MY PIMP, ROMANCE TAKES A RAIN CHECK, I LOST MY HEART IN HOLLYWOOD and DIARY OF A DICK, are included in a single omnibus from Thrillville Press called THE VIC VALENTINE CLASSIC CASE FILES.
