William Landon is an Associate Professor of Renaissance History and Chair of the Department of History and Geography at Northern Kentucky University. He holds an M.Sc. (1999) and Ph.D.(2003) from the University of Edinburgh. William has written two monographs, the most recent of which, "Lorenzo di Filippo Strozzi and Niccolò Machiavelli", was published by The University of Toronto Press in 2013. Presently, William is writing his third book titled: "The Life of Filippo di Matteo Strozzi: Exile, Restoration and Magnificence in Medici Controlled Florence". This book, which contains the first Italian critical edition and first ever English translation of the "Vita di Filippo Strozzi (Il Vecchio)" is already under contract. It will appear in the Lorenzo da Ponte Italian Library--housed at UCLA and published by The University of Toronto Press.Having lived abroad for years, William remains an avid traveler and researcher. He spends, when his administrative duties permit, as much time in Italy as possible. And, he has had the great good fortune of giving invited lectures in Europe, North America and in Asia.
