I only read "Moontide" by Mercedes Lackey. It sucked. Very disjointed story with abrupt ending with most of it wrapped up off-page. Lots of time wasted on the kingdom's background when none of it came into play or mattered in the least. Nothing about the magic and The Tradition of the Five Hundred K...

An interesting set of stories, not necessarily the best Mercedes Lackey story but not bad, a good Tanith Lee story and the C E Murphy made me want to read more of her books. Mercedes Lackey's story Moontide had only a very small amount of magic in it. A story of a sea-hold where the daughter of the...

Sólo lei a C.E. Murphy- Banshees CriesExplica mucho acerca de la madre de Joanne."(...)Bitter ashes, isn't it, but that's the price of Gaelic blood, my Siobhán. For all their wars are merry.”“And all their songs are sad,” I whispered. (Nota: poema de G.K. Chesterton)

Winter Moon: It was odd to not read about the Tradition in one of these stories. I'm not even sure if this story is based on a fairy tale (since I often don't know the fairy tale these stories are based on). I knew she was going to end up with the fool, I thought about it when she first met him, but...

This book was a collection of three writers - Mercedes Lackey, Tanith Lee, and C.E. Murphy. They all had the moon as a theme to tie them all in together. I got this book because of Lee (in fact, I didn't realize it was three novellas). Moontide, the first novella, is Lackey's, and I quite lik...

Picked this up because I'm a fan of Mercedes Lackey, but was disappointed in the reading of it. The ML story was ok, but pretty weak, possibly make a good YA read, but no surprises here, you can see the end coming from a mile away. I would love to read more about the Grey Ladies, but hopefully with ...

"Moontide" by Mercedes LackeyThis is my first Lackey story even though I've got her Diana Tregarde mysteries waiting here on Mt. TBR that I haven't read yet. In this novella, Lackey takes us to the land of her Five Hundred Kingdoms and tells the story of a sea keep's daughter who's been sent off to...

This anthology was okay for me. What it did do was introduce C.E. Murphy to me which I was very grateful for as I ended up loving her books. Banshee cries is the first time I encounter the Urban Shaman series. One of my early forays into the genre Urban Fantasy. Delightful.
