I enjoyed this book, although not as much as the first one, Fall of Giants. The characters in this book are the children of the characters from book 1. It takes place during World War II.

October bubby read with my brother. Although my reviews tend to be spoiler free I always wait for my brother to finish up before posting any reviews. Oh no, Oprah picked this book! It's been ages since I've read it, but I vaguely recall it was enjoyable. Never has stonemasonry & cathedral construction been so fascinating.

The plot continues the stories of the five families and their now grown up children that the rea...

I really wanted to enjoy this book. I was hoping to eagerly await the reading of the third and final one of the series, but instead, I was hugely disappointed. The plot never thickened. The story slipped into fantasy when each family seemed to experience the same circumstances and follow the same li...
