It is an interesting trawl around the seaside locations of the Uk, looking back at the rise of the coast as a destination, the heyday of the seaside town and the decline since. It is a very readable book, and written in a really nice style.
I found this book fascinating. There's a wealth of historical detail, amusing historical anecdotes, and a witty way with words.
