Typical Amanda Quick (and that's a good thing) - fun story, likeable characters, awesome dog. :)

Actual rating: 3.5 stars Took me until nearly halfway into the book to really get into it, but over all an enjoyable read. If you've enjoyed other books by Amanda Quick, you should like this one as well.

The plots to Ms. Quick's books are nearly identical: always a frustrated lover, always a woman who dons men's clothes, always a peril, always a nice resolution. But they are enjoyable and a pleasant, non-demanding read.

Beatrice and Leo are another cute couple. What I liked about this story was all the antiquities interwoven into the plot. I enjoy these sleuthing romance stories where they are trying to "uncover" the dastardly deeds of a mysterious villain.
