The world of Roshar thought it had survived its great cataclysm four millennia ago, but days are slowly counting down for when the next Desolation begins. Brandon Sanderson’s epic fantasy series’ second installment, World of Radiance, brings numerous characters together in the middle of the Shatter...

This was very much my cup of tea. Strong world building where despite the presence of magic there seemed an almost science fiction tint to it all, where you could see a scientific rationale. Stronger in that regard than say GRR Martin's Song of Fire and Ice, but not as striking as in Pullman's His D...

Sometimes it takes me a while to gain momentum reading a book, but not the case with this one. I was supposed to be reading something else, in fact, but I thought I'd just peak at it. And then I was hooked. It picks up right where The Way of Kings leaves off, without slowing down. There was a lit...

Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson My rating: 2 of 5 stars Solid, is the writing. The characters rarely grow.So immature, wrong decisions, do show.I know the story, I hear the story, yet it doesn't really flow. What is the point with the shards, the drawing, the stones? They can fly in the air, and...

I thought hard about my review of this book...and it is just so.....much....that I can't even begin. So...simple is best. I am still in awe at the scale of this series and the amount of world building that is displayed. I mean, whole histories and myths, legends, ancient history, Gods, mini-gods, ...

This second book in the series was much more enjoyable than the first volume. The plot contained more exciting, confrontational episodes, as well as advancing characters that the reader has become comfortable with. The organization was more straightforward, following several characters first person ...

Ogromny rozmach, przemyślana fabuła, wielki świat, nowy system magii i o wiele bardziej wyraziste postacie. Myślałem, że długo nikomu nie uda się dorównać Eriksonowi pod względem potężnego uniwersum i różnorodności, ale Sanderson jest już na dobrej drodze. Druga część jest o poziom lepsza niż pierws...

This one seemed way better than the first. I loved the main characters' arcs. I do agree with the Tor.com review, though, about how the characters should've talked to each other more. that's always a frustrating plot device.
