I thought I knew zombies - the shuffle, the arms out, the groan of "braaaaaaains". Simple, right?Nope. Oh so wrong.Max Brooks, on the other hand, has been doing a lot of thinking about zombies - what makes them tick, what makes them die, and everything inbetween. Through an oral history a la Stud...

I am just gonna be evil with the grade here. The thing is, some parts were great! Some were good, some were ok, some pretty boring. And it was just very different. Still even with my 2 I would recommend it.Cos there are zombies! It will make you think about were you would hide, and how fast a societ...

Very different in a good way. Glad I listened to this (outstanding cast) rather than read it because I think this benefited greatly from the delivery method.

Thanks Alicia. A proper review to come. ***Blodeuedd and I had a discussion about this book.***Zombies are not my thing. I don’t squee every time I find a decent novel about them nor do I queue to see the horror films about them. Slow-moving rotting flesh in a romance plot is definitely not my thing...

This is a review of the audio book which, in my opinion, has to be one of the better audio books I've listened to in a long time. There is a full all-star cast and it is really fun trying to place those familiar voices. The story is told in a kind of news magazine format with the main narrator inter...

Doing something in reverse bit me in the butt this time. I started the book but didn't get very far in before seeing the movie. What I thought the movie was going to be :What I actually got :Damn, those zombies were fast.Yes, I am only doing all of this to amuse myself, for the rest of you probably s...

It's now ten years since the world was almost destroyed by zombies and Max Brooks has determined that the stories of the survivors must be told for the benefit of future generation. The zombie war was almost an extinction moment for humans, as they found all of the military tactics they had develope...

I bought this for my husband as a birthday gift, and we decided to read it together. I really enjoyed the way the story was told in this book, as interviews from all kinds of people who experienced the zombie apocalypse (World War Z) in very different ways. The depth Brooks went to in this book was ...

This book was not what I expected - a horror-filled, gory, Dawn-of-Dead-type battles with Zombies on every other page - but somehow the chosen format - that of a collection of personal anecdotes and stories from survivors of the Z-War 10 years later - was somehow more intimate, more realistic, and t...
