For a how to write book, this is really funny. And her advice is really good, the whole just get it done and fix it later thing always bears repeating. Fun writing exercises too.

I think that I would have LOVED this book if I was stil 10 years old. It's a cute book, definitely inspiring for a young wannabe writer, but written for a much younger reader.

I. Love. This. Book. Writing Magic is not the type of book on writing that tells you how to write. It is more a book of writing prompts and exercises. Mrs. Levine doesn't tell you how to write, she just gives you advice and examples of things like writing in the third person, or writing details in y...

I'd have to field test this with its target audience before I could really fairly evaluate this book. I got annoyed at Levine's habit of illustrating every writing tip with an example from her own writing. The writing starts at the end of each chapter felt too structured to me.
