More often than not, the first advice from a seasoned hunter will be “go to the library and begin researching.”I believe that the more you know about the artifacts that you find and the people who once owned them, the more meaning they will have for you, but most people have a desire to begin finding artifacts as soon as possible. The majority of people work hard most of the week, and they need a little fun during their leisure time. Almost everybody that I know would get a bigger rush from finding an arrowhead than they would from a trip to the library. What other hobby will give you exercise, teach you history, and provide you with free souvenirs to take home?
