I say 3.75 stars the first three stories of his childhood past Christmas had me laughing out loud to myself. Biting a plastic Santa's lips off, and the things his parents got him for Christmas.Claus and Effect takes a turn into the more heart warming moments in his past Christmas times. Although Si...

It was dragging, but then on page 167 it felt like he'd punched me in the gut. Had me blinking away the tears.

I give 3 stars to the first few stories and 1 star to the last few for an average of 2 stars. The first couple of stories tell about Burroughs's childhood memories of past Christmases. Two stories are about how he used to confuse Santa with Jesus and also when he bit the wax face off of a life-size ...

Another wonderful collection of essays from Augusten Burroughs. No matter what your thoughts on his personal life, this collection of short stories will move you and make you laugh. He can take every day situations and make them magical. A perfect read for the season. I just wish it were longer.
