Something of a Regency James Bond thriller set in Venice, with beautiful descriptions of the city in the early 19'th century. The love scenes are delicious and the dialogues fun and witty. After a second reading, I have to say the H/h did not engage me emotionally - considering their personal histor...

Hmmm. Tough to rate. Very light and fun. I love Loretta Chase's humor, and the Venetian setting was fab. I wasn't crazy about some of the language - too anachronistic (ie, "puke" - that may or may not have been a word employed back then, but, I kinda doubt it). I also thought the heroine was a bit ...

My review contains spoilers and they're mostly my thoughts as I went with the book...Well, as you'd see from my comments, I loved the hero, James. He was a spy and did all sorts of James Bond stuff to do his job. The books starts with one such scene where he's about to sleep with a woman who is a s...

I'm doing this book an injustice by rating it with only 3 stars, because it's objectively much better than that. In fact, technically, it was an almost 5 stars book. Chase's writing is flawless, her characters well developed and likable with a few flaws to make them seem more human, her descriptions...

Three-quality, four-enjoyment. Good heroine, good hero, no one too stupid to not die in a fire, a little intrigue, hey!
