Because no one else if hitting that sweet spot of morbid humor and Victorian art. Well, no, because anyone who tried would just be ripping off Gorey....
Lovely paintings--I love the framing just after, or before, some central, violent action. Particularly pleasurable when received as a gift at xmas, when everything and everyone all sweetness and warm humanitarian sentiment.
