Bob Batchelor, a noted cultural historian, has published widely on popular culture, modern American literature, and mass communications. Among his 28 books are The 1900s; The 1980s; The 2000s; American Pop: Popular Culture Decade by Decade (4 volumes), Cult Pop Culture (3 volumes), John Updike: A Critical Biography, and Gatsby: The Cultural History of the Great American Novel. His latest book, co-authored with M. Keith Booker, is Mad Men: A Cultural History (Rowman & Littlefield, May 2015). Batchelor edits several book series for Rowman & Littlefield, including "Contemporary American Literature," "Great Writers/Great Books," "100 Greatest..." and "Sports Icons and Issues in Popular Culture." He is the founding editor of The Popular Culture Studies Journal, published by the Midwest Popular Culture Association and is a member of the editorial advisory board of The Journal of Popular Culture. Batchelor also serves as Director of Marketing & Media for The John Updike Childhood Home Museum in Reading, PA.
