Doris Parmett is an award-winning and best-selling American author of romance and contemporary women’s fiction. Her awards include the Holt Medallion from the Virginia Chapter of Romance Writers for Risk; three awards from the New Jersey Writers Conference, for Unfinished Business, Risk, and Lies; two Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice awards, again for Risk and Lies.Born in New York, she’s lived in ten states, thanks to her physician father setting up army hospitals during the war and a husband whose career included moves from New York to California, then to Texas, back to California, and finally to New Jersey. Doris has a master’s degree in science from the University of Southern California.Doris credits her love of reading to becoming a writer and an educator. As a reading specialist, she was instrumental in bringing the Young Author’s Program to the state of New Jersey, where she resides.
