This biography won't appeal to everyone, but to those it does, it is a treat. Excellent poetic biography of blues legend Robert Johnson. A picture book for an older audience; one that adults will surely appreciate. Stylistically appropriate illustrations from Gary Kelley wrap this package up perfect...

Just listened to this being read by Stephen Colbert. The story gets 3 stars, the narration 5 stars. I'll split the difference and give it 4 stars. As well as a strong recommendation. LISTEN here: http://www.selectedshorts.org/onair/Worth it for Colbert's voices alone!

Here's an odd but interesting idea: take some short stories, remove them from their original anthologies and re-print them in individual specially designed volumes. The idea seems to be to allow the story to shine its own light and not be over-shadowed or out-shone by the other stories in the anthol...

A picture book biography of violinist Nicolo Paganini. Atmospherically mystical tale of the life of one of the most talented musical geniuses of all time. I wish there were many more books like this, that can entertainingly introduce young readers to musicians and composers of history. In doing so, ...
