Gerritsen deftly weaves ancient archeology and whodunnit in a slightly off-medical thriller that manages to keep the tension and the guessing going until the very end. I love mystery crime thrillers but am sorry to say struggled with reading this story until finally hooked about 3 chapters from the end. Not to say it was a hard story to follow just not one that captured me totally from beginning to end.

I this is probably my least favorite book in the series so far. That's not to say it isn't good, it's definitely a solide novel. And the twists and turns kept me guessing. But the subject matter, with the archaeolgy and all that just wasn't my cup of tea. All in all it was a decent read.
