I grew up in Oyster Bay, New York, where my mother worked in a charming bookstore called The Book Mark. As a six-year-old, I enjoyed opening the boxes of the new children's books that arrived at the store. I've been a book lover ever since. NIGHTSONG is my fiction debut. I was inspired to write the novel by the stories my grandmother, Mary Helen Jones, wrote down about our Welsh ancestors. I've also had a lifelong fascination with our ancient human cousins--the Neanderthals.
