I write textbooks and other materials for English language learners. I specialize in courses that are practical, fun, and easy to use. I really enjoy the challenge. I started teaching English in Rome in 1988, and went on to work at schools and universities all over the world. I began writing textbooks in 1998 and have been a full-time ELT writer since 2000. I am author or co-author of several courses, including Get Real!, Reading Keys, English Grammar in Use Extra, Cambridge English Skills, Breakthrough Plus, Q, and Pass the TOEIC Test. Some of these are sold worldwide, and others are designed for learners in particular regions. I also regularly present at conferences and workshops. I've always enjoyed writing, and I'm pleased to say I still get a buzz from teaching when I try out new materials in class. As for hobbies, I read fiction when I get chance. Like everyone, I hope to write a bestselling novel one day...
