I grew up in Connecticut and graduated from William and Mary with a B.A. in English. For the next 19 years I worked as an editor for Raintree Children's Books, as a writer and editor for National Wildlife and International Wildlife magazines, and then as a writer and editor for Time-Life Books, where I was Managing Editor of Time-Life for Children.
