The author of many books about television and film history, he lives in Rustburg, Virginia. His published books include, "A History of Television's The Virginian 1962-1971" (2006/09), "Pete Duel : A Biography" (2007/08), "Encyclopedia of Weird Westerns" (2009), Jennifer Jones: The Life and Films (2010), "Roy Huggins: Creator of Maverick, 77 Sunset Strip, The Fugitive and The Rockford Files" (2014) and "Jeffrey Hunter: The Film, Television, Radio and Stage Performances" (2014).His latest book for McFarland is "Pete Duel: A Biography Second Edition" (2015) which includes over 30,000 words of new material, including interviews, photographs, additional chapters and a new Foreword by Belinda Montgomery. The updated Second Edition of "Encyclopedia of Weird Westerns" with hundreds of new entries (over 50,000 words) and an Introduction by Cynthia J. The Lost Colony is an amazing thing: a symphonic historical drama (the first outdoor drama) set on a huge stage, and drawing large numbers of people to Manteo every year.Fun fact: the stage is so big that women have to be over 5'6" to play adults, men have to be over 6'.
