Rory Foster trained with renowned Cecchetti and Vaganova teachers in New York, London, and Chicago. He danced with London Ballet Theatre, New Orleans Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre where he worked with many influential choreographers including Antony Tudor, Agnes de Mille, Alvin Ailey, Eliot Feld, and John Neumeier. Following his performing career, he was appointed ballet master for the New Orleans Ballet and later for the Chicago Ballet. Rory Foster is a professor emeritus of dance at DePaul University in Chicago where he was dean of the Barat College Conservatory of Dance. He was recently a Visiting Professor and head of the teaching degree program in the Department of Ballet at the University of Utah.
