This is an anthology, where all the stories are focused around love and death. I know, extremely surprising, based on the title. I will write a tiny bit about each of the stories, and conclude with my general impression of the anthology as a whole.Love Hurts by Jim Butcher - 4 stars.See my write-up...

rating for Jacqueline Carey's story: You, and You Alone: 4 starsThis story is actually just a snippet, and damn, it left me heartbroken. We follow Anafiel Delaunay's memories regarding his first meeting with prince Rolande and what happened after: their romance, the betrothal with Anafiel's foster s...

Gaiman, Hobb, Hanover, Carey and Beagle I liked. Others have already been mostly forgotten. Some were agony to get through. And I am not fond of short stories in general.

A rich, imaginative collection of fantastical, tragic or potentially tragic romance stories. The authors come from many genres -- science fiction, fantasy, historical romance, etc. -- so not all the stories have a happy ending.

Hard to categorize this book since it's an anthology of many popular authors. The 4 star rating is based solely upon the short story “A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows” written by Diana Gabaldon! When I read on Diana's website that not only did she have a short story published in "Songs of Love and Death: All-Original Tales of Star-Crossed Love" but that it was a story about R...
Muddled, Mystified & Marvelous Musings
I enjoyed the stories however I was disappointed that the stories were so short. I know, I know, silly of me to say considering it’s a collection of short stories. All of which I must say were well written. I’m a sucker for any type of romance. I just want to be drawn into the story. Its hard when ...

The high points provided by Vaughn, Hanover, Snodgrass, Hobb, Gaiman, Liu, and Gabaldon represent a wide range of genres. I'm having trouble picking a favorite from that group and have listed them in the order they appear in the TOC. If the collection were just these, I'd have given it 5 stars.Carey...
