Messy
Chronicles of a Rockin' Mess - S.E. Rose

Lark is the personal assistant to the most complicated celebrity.  She is also in love with him.  She puts up with a lot.  One night, there is more than she can take.

Lincoln realizes he feels more than he should for his right hand woman.  With her holding herself back, he decides to find a way to let her go.  Then the regret sets in.

I thought this book would be different.  I am so glad I was wrong.  This story has all the feels, and more.  I enjoyed the action, banter, and definite angst.  It all comes together very nicely.  Only catch for me is I wish I could hear the music.  Very good read.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Rockin' it Forever by Morticia Knight
Rockin' it Forever (What's His Passion?) - Morticia Knight

“The flood of tears won’t stop, the flow of fears won’t quit. You’re on my mind and in my dreams. The years of hurt won’t go, the terror of night comes back. You’re in my heart and in my soul. We’ve had too many lifetimes to lose love’s light. Why would we even want to try?” ~ Aubrey King (Bryan's Song)

Bryan Gallagher gets a lot more than he bargains for when he agrees to help rock star Aubrey King write his memoirs. Brian has idolized Aubrey since he was a teenager. It's a dream come true to have the opportunity to work with him; he never expected to end up in Aubrey's bed, especially since Bryan considers himself to be straight. Yet, there is something about Aubrey that is intoxicating; being with him just feels...right. Bryan can't imagine how they will be able to maintain their relationship, but he has faith that, with Aubrey by his side, they will find a way to make it work.

Aubrey is thrilled when Bryan agrees to work with him. He's had his eye on Bryan for some time, following his work as a music journalist and wants to meet him. Writing Aubrey's memoirs seems a perfect way to make it happen. Even Aubrey is surprised when he and Bryan click so quickly. Aubry never dreamed that Bryan, who he thought was straight, is so easily seduced; Aubrey is thrilled. Aubrey knows how quickly and deeply he falls in love, and tries his best to take his time and keep the intensity level down. Bryan is more cautious, especially since feelings for a man are so new to him. Since Aubrey needs to stay in the closet, their relationship has to be kept a secret. The men think that won't be a problem, but it turns out to be bigger than either of them had anticipated.

They think they are doing a good job of keeping it secret, but as one of the band members explains, all anyone has to do is look at their faces when they look at each other to know they are in love. After Aubrey reluctantly confides in Bryan about his shady past, Bryan reassures Aubrey that he won't hold what has happened against him. But there is one more thing Aubrey hasn't told Bryan, or anyone else for that matter, but convinces himself that it's not the right time. This omission comes back to haunt him when Bryan overhears a conversation in which Aubrey discusses the 'forbidden' subject. Knowing that Aubrey is still being untruthful, makes Bryan doubt everything else Aubrey has said; the trust between them is broken. For Bryan, it isn't something that could easily be fixed. It would take a miracle.

Some people have to lose someone before they truly appreciate what they meant to them. The key to a successful relationship is honesty. If a couple isn't truthful with each other; if they let their fear overrule being honest, they don't have good communication. Without it, love can't survive. If you like stories about rockers, their chaotic life style, and the necessity of being truthful, then you may enjoy this story. Thanks, Morticia, for a rockin' good story.

Rockin' the Boat: 50 Iconic Revolutionaries - From Joan of Arc to Malcom X - Jeff Fleischer

Honestly, Zest Books has never let me down and finishing out my part of this tour, I can say that they are truly a diverse publishing group. You may wonder just how much info you can get in a book about 50 different icons in history and I'm here to tell you it's a lot more than you would think. The author expertly touches on various aspects of each person, including trivia bits that can be used in conversation with others who have the same interests.

This is a book that can be shared throughout a family or a group of friends. A helpful reference when either researching one of those listed in the book or to use as a starting point in finding someone to do further research on. For any history teachers out there, this would be a great supplement to your classroom library. For students, nothing like being able to add something interesting facts during class discussions.

Any person who has an interest in iconic figures in history would find this book right up their alley. An issue with the book though, is the small font throughout the book. This is a limitation for those with vision issues. A bigger font would bring in more readers. Yes, this would make for a larger book, but even if the book doubled in size, it would be very manageable. My reading glasses got a work out with this one, but I survived.
