I have read a few Tom Holt books in the past and love his sense of humour but have never found myself enjoying the story of the novel. I seem to struggle to follow what is going on in all his novels. Primarily I have read them because his sense of humour is so enjoyable.
Entire book based on the riddle of which came first the chicken or the egg. Very clever thoughts throughout, with lots of cultural allusions. Need to be awake to get the most out of this.
As the updates mention, this was a comforting read, taken 15 pages at a time when locals were acting like impetuous peasants. I could return to the story indifferently many days later. The plot twists really were inventive without being especially challenging.There were approximately 5 truly hilario...

Told from a first person point of view by a man chasing one of the creatures preying on Humans. They arrived a few generations ago and use humans for meat reducing humans to the level of cattle. Cattle with teeth though!
