Oh this was fun. Great characters, main and secondary; good world building. Well...once I could get past all the acronyms and abbreviations (it was difficult wading and seemed like just trying too hard at times) which kept pulling me out of the story. The whole re-discovery thing worked and the co...

Everything was there, likable characters, great plot, interesting world, laughs, a few tears on my part, and plenty of action. This was a great, kinda scary take on the future of the US, where things are greatly divided and the country seems to be in a constant state of war, which I hope the author ...

I enjoyed the premise and the main two characters were very interesting. The future world Tenino created was worth and second look because something so stupid could happen to the USA. I just got so annoyed with what our MC's argued about. One star to the young nun!

Quirky, fun, full of sexual tension on a whole new level. I quite enjoyed this.

As a voracious consumer of sci-fi from way back, this book helped to assuage my persistent craving. The premise was good, the characters were believably flawed and real, and their relationship nuanced. All good things. What didn't I love about this book? Okay, some of the high-tech words threw me off, but that's it! Enjoyed the futuristic look at a divided United States, loooved Matt & James (all that delicious tension, the chemistry was smoking hot!), and James mutant brain is awesome. Giggled in quite a few plac...

Fun, engaging scifi. I want sequels, without feeling like this was a set-up book. Edited to add: the audiobook was quite good too.

Overall, I'll give this a 2.5 star rating. But frankly, there were moments where it barely passed 2.The starting point was interesting enough. Near future, separation of power, ostracism of gays as background and as main plot, two former friends and high school colleagues reunited. I thought the sto...

Couldn't put it down. I mean that almost literally. Definitely want to read more about these guys, and Laslo and Logan's story.

This was an interesting dystopia, with some very nice ideas (for example, the hollow leg was totally practical, and the pun made me laugh) Also, the characters were likeable, not only the leads, but also the secondary cast. (I loved Miz Horse, and hated Sister Benigna!)A fine, mostly bone-dry humor l...
