Cold, icy cold, painfully cold. That is “61 Hours”, the latest Jack Reacher tale from Lee Child. Stranded by a bus accident during a snow storm in frigid South Dakota, our hero is caught up in a surreal drug-related operation. He latches on to a proud witness to a drug transaction, helping provide ...

Ok, so I bought this at the Borders that's going out of business near my house. I'm glad to say that I didn't spend that much on it!And the only reason I picked it up was because I read somewhere, and I can't remember to this day, which website it was, but it said this made the top all time mysterie...

If you've ever liked 24, this is that. Jack Bauer, sorry I mean Reacher, is an ex-MP conveniently arriving in an otherwise anonymous frozen little town suddenly hit with some unexplained goings on that you just know are going to have some wider, and probably sinister, explanation. That only Jack can...

Typical Jack Reacher novel, where he is smarter than everyone. The others always come to realize they need Jack, even if some of them don't like him. Good conquers evil. Women love him (I'm not sure why). My biggest problem with the whole nomadic life thing is jack buying new clothes every few days ...

More like 2-1/2 stars. The snow kept me reading this one because it's been so miserably hot here! Didn't like Reacher much more than when I tried to read KILLING FLOOR some years ago, but it wasn't a bad story all in all. I understand lots of people are disappointed with this particular book, but...

I had heard of Lee Child's books but this is the first I read. I loved it...since, my husband and I are working backwards in the series.

Reacher reminds me of Parker, and Child of Richard Stark. Both series front inevitably, improbably efficient men of violence. (I would cast Lee Marvin in both roles, even if John Boorman hadn't thought of that actor.) Both series repeatedly return to a single central plot: get the protagonist int...

I'm going with 3.5 stars on this one. There's only one reason I can't nudge it up to 4 stars, which I'll explain at the end of the review (with plenty of advance warning.)Jack Reacher novels fall into two categories. One is the big city, ABO, non-stop action, heavy violence thriller such as Gone T...
