I suppose it shook a bit the rigid marriage norms of the 19th century. Convention breaker.

I loved this story. This story was about Nora moved me. The loveless marriage angle was something new for me to read. Ms. Ibsen's writing is so sharp and cutting. I felt badly for Nora. This short little story opened my eyes as a young 16 year old, safe in my little protective bubble.

Women, especially women who aren't stupid, find it very difficult to live in a society that doesn't consider them fully human.
