This book should have never happened. After reading some 350 odd pages of this book, I must come to that conclusion. The Villiers I recall from previous James books would never be so moronic. The Villiers I recall is intelligent, crafty, witty and an utter snob. The Villiers I recall is incisively p...

The “Desperate Duchesses” series was very up and down for me and this last book was the most up and down of all; one minute I enjoyed it, the next I was bored, the next I wanted to throw it against the wall. The book starts off with a bang, a dramatic, sensual moment between the Duke of Villiers, who...

Didn't think I would but I ended up loving this! One of the best from the series in my opinion. When I started it I didn't think I would like it I felt it was a bit slow paced and boring but when things picked up it got really interesting. And the most shocking is EJ made me actually love Leo hard t...

Thi...

I liked this story about the Duke of Villiers locating the last two of his six illegitimate children and Eleanor who says she will only marry a Duke. I just wish it had been a little faster paced, my rating 3.5*

My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed: http://www.joyfullyreviewed.com/reviews/Nov09/adukeofherown.ej.htmlIt is a truth universally acknowledged, that the Duke of Villiers, a single man in possession of a good fortune (not to mention six illegitimate children), must be desperately in want of...

Throughout the series, the main couple was always Jemma and her duke, Elijah. But someone drew my interest way more than that couple, and that was Leopold, Duke of Villiers. Talk about your anti-hero. At the beginning of the series, he sets out to seduce Jemma (via a chess game) who was married! So ...

I have never read an Eloisa James book before. My preferred romance category is the contemporary. But[a:Lynne Connolly|355692|Lynne Connolly|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1356232001p2/355692.jpg]'s Richard and Rose series has whetted my appetite again for historical romance and I ha...
