Oh man, this book had so many things that annoyed me. The main character was awful. The sidekick was annoying. I didn't want after any of her love choices. The smutty scenes (I read this for my romance book club) were horrible.
Alright, I've spent the last couple hours doing everything on BL (reading Grim Lists, following more reviewers and reading tons of reviews in the process) except writing this review. I originally rated the book 2 stars, but I bumped it up by 1/2 star because I really can't decide whether I hated thi...
The beginning is really slow and kind of confusing. Main character Joy and her friend Roxy have their romantic fortunes told by a third friend, Miranda. It's confusing because the scene is told in past tense initially, then completed via a flashback while Roxy and Joy are going home. Why? Who knows?...
Check out my other listens at Eargasms Audiobook ReviewsHoly Hannah, that was a steamy fun read! It had plenty of laugh out loud light and funny moments mixed in with a fair amount of mystery.I really enjoyed the story for the most part but was a touch disappointed by some of the events. I was also ...
(Deutsche Kritik weiter unten)Vampire or no vampire, that is the question! If you like your supernatural romances with a healthy dose of humour and a spunky heroine, this is the book for you! The writing is refreshing, the book doesn't take itself too seriously, and there's even a little tongue-in-ch...
3.5 stars on this one....I did like it and I thought the narrator did a fabulous job.... but the story it's self....something was missing to make it a solid 4 star read...the romance was there, as was the humor but I think it was that some of the characters and situations seemed a bit to much.....
Joy and her best friend Roxy decide to travel to the Czech Republic for a Gothfare on Halloween. Roxy is a huge fan of a book series about Dark Ones, vampires (think the Carpathian series) and she is hoping to meet the author and perhaps some vampires. Joy on the other hand does not believe in vampi...
Actual rating: 3.5This book felt like a build up or set up to the rest of the series. The Dark Ones are vampires looking for their Beloved, the one who can save them from their suffering. Joy, our seemingly perpetual horny leading lady, was pegged as a Beloved, but finds herself in a bind trying t...
Katie MacAlister is usually an author I enjoy, but damn this book just couldn't keep my attention. I would have given up on it, but I needed it for a couple of challenges I'm doing (how bad is that?!). I have the 2nd Dark Ones book, but I don't know if I will read it.
