A Kiss for Midwinter by Courtney Milan Brothers Sinister #1.5 (novella) Miss Lydia Charingford is always cheerful, and never more so than at Christmas time. But no matter how hard she smiles, she can't forget the youthful mistake that could have ruined her reputation. Even though the worst of ...
The second shorter work in the Brothers Sinister series. I definitely prefer the novels to the shorts. This one definitely has some interesting scenes, but I found the hero difficult to swallow. Which is too bad, as I love the heroine to pieces.
Great Christmas readI had no complaints. Normally, there's at least something, but this story was exceedingly enjoyable, the writing amazing, and it made sense.
On Thursdays, I pick a book beloved to me to share. This week's Christmas choice is A Kiss For Midwinter (Brothers Sinister, #1.5) by Courtney Milan. Oh this book! It such a smart Historical Romance. Sweet and Sour in just the right ways. The writing lovely, The characters perfectly drawn with a...
Doctor Jonas Grantham's presence is a constant reminder of Lydia's humiliation five years prior. She knows he's judging her, mocking her, condemning her with each sardonic smile, each gaze, each spoken word...But in this Christmas season, Lydia will learn not everything is as it's presumed, and some...
This was a fun book that did not really get too bog down into Christmas holiday madness, making the reading easier as today was a rainy Monday in May. I liked the story a lot and I really liked the MCs, but was a little bogged down by the sex scene. It was a bit longer than a novella (roughly 250 NO...
Courtney Milan writes wonderfully. Her characters are three-dimensional and nuanced, more like real people than characters. I always feel like I want the romance to happen just as much as they do or in some circumstances more. My heart was with Grantham as he wooed Lydia, and I felt deeply for Lydia...
So it took me a while for me to work out what was bothering me so much about this book and then it hit me. The male character was doing that thing in romance novels that I loathe which is, I know better than you do. And the male hero took certain actions that I thought were downright horrible that I...
Sweet short novella, read it on my lunch. Greatly enjoyed both hero and heroine, and even if the medical attitudes were possibly anachronistic, the author sold you on the hero being the kind of person who would hold them even if they weren't in vogue or in general acceptance.
A Kiss for Midwinter is another novella in the Brothers Sinister series, taking place after The Duchess War. It opens a few years before with aspiring doctor Jonas Grantham shadowing the current area doctor to see a patient. He has promised not to talk, just observe, and he plans to go to medical sc...
