Adopted into an affluent and aristocratic family, Melinda A. Warshaw had everything a little girl could want—the best clothes, the best toys, horse riding lessons, anything else her heart desired. But what she didn't have was answers. Why was she so different from the people she lived with? Why were her most natural artistic impulses disdained and discouraged regularly by her adoptive mother? Why? Why?

Profound sadness consumed the young woman, and as she sought her true identity, she dodged a sexually abusive older brother, a lecherous father, and incessant pressure from her mother to develop into the WASP image she treasured.

Suffering PTSD from the trauma of separation at birth from her mother plus being secretly abused by her adoptive brother and then her father and encountering immobilizing triggers around every corner, Melinda soldiered on. From 1947 to the present, join the author on a road to truth, redemption, and most of all—answers. This book is a real page turner and funny as well.. funny and Melinda does find her biomother and reunites with bios and to her total surprise she finds many of her biological relatives and finds they are just like her in hundreds of ways-- same talents, way they dress, tall German beauties, funny, artists, musicians, athletes, teachers, and so many other similar traits that are naturally inherited through the DNA in her genes to make her a Franke not a Moyer and at last, real to herself! She once was so lost and now is found. Many of the answers she was seeking are on her webpage. Her story is interesting because the reader is hearing the voice of an adoptee while in her adoptive family and on her secret search. We witness how fiction morphed into real life as she finally finds her genetic mirrors in the lost people she is related to by DNA. How she does it will always remain a mystery. Perhaps she had help from above.

"I think targeting your book solely for adoptees would be short sighted. I mean who doesn't love sort of a rags to riches story? From the orphanage to a wealthy family and hobnobbing with the stars and celebrities. All so glamorous but then people are envious and the bottom falls out and bankruptcy is filed. Then of course, the phoenix rises from the ashes and success is had again. You have elements of the evil stepmother, a seemingly fairy tale romance. Seems like a classic to me."
