This book is a great/fun book for teaching nouns! I would use this for a whole group to introduce nouns. This could easily be followed up with an activity in nouns and also nouns from the book. It is a guided reading level O. I would use this in grades 1-3 as a read aloud. This could also be used in...

A Mrs. Gilmore favorite!  This is just one of a set of cool books that are educational and fun!!  In a classroom, this is a great resource to focus on nouns.  Other books in this set focus on adjectives, adverbs, verbs, and other parts of speech.  For younger children, these books are fun to hear du...

A Mink, a Fink, a Skating Rink: What is a Noun? is such a cute book. It is full of rhyming words that are nouns. Instead of using text to explain what a noun is, this book uses illustrations to show what a noun is. This would be a great book to use in a classroom for incorporating grammar. This coul...

I have become obsessed with this book since one of my professors Read it to our class. This book is a great way to teach students about nouns while keeping them engaged. A Mink, a Fink, a Skating Rink: What is a Noun? is an excellent way to introduce nouns to the class. The book describes what nouns are, but in a fun way! The book is full of rhyme and flows easily. Nouns are displayed in a different color from the text, making them "pop" out to readers. Students in ...

2nd Grade This is a book about nouns. It shows the read what nouns are through rhyme, illustration, and humor. I would use this book in my classroom when I was introducing nouns. Parts of speech are hard for children to learn because there are so many different categories. This book would greatly ...

I would use this book with 1st-5th grade. I think that every student can have reminders of what a noun is. I would use this book before a lesson on nouns. I would have students make their own list of nouns and rhyme words.

I thought this book was so much fun to work with when we read it in class. Personally, I would love to use it when teaching nouns and use it specifically for a word sort activity. I would also keep it in my classroom library after we worked with it because it is just so fun! Grades 1-6.

Loved this book!! So glad Mrs. Gilmore introduced us to this awesome book full of nouns! Really cute illustrations and potential for a lot of classroom uses/activities. One I think would be fun is after reviewing what a noun is, read this book, and tell the class to either stand up every time they h...

This was a great "Book of the Week" that Mrs. Gilmore read today in class. I love how it introduces nouns with fun rhyming and pictures. This would be great for introducing nouns in the lower grades but a good way to review nouns in the older grades. I love the idea of counting how many different no...
