This is one of my favorite books of all time. John Irving can spin thousands of stories into one book, and A Prayer is an excellent example.

My mom bought this book for me and made me promise I'd read it. When I started it, I was a bit slow to get going with it. At first I just didn't take to it. It actually took me months to get through the first half, because I kept getting distracted by other books. I am so glad she kept pushing m...

I am a huge John Irving fan and this is my favorite John Irving book. Whenever I think about a wish list of books in audio, this one comes up.

I read this book for a class in high school, and it still one of those books that remains lodged in my memory. Poignant and at times disturbing it is not a light read.

I loved this book. Brilliantly thought out and as weird as any John Irving book. It might be a bit more 'preachy', but I really enjoyed it.

And one of my favorite people in the whole world has told me she loves this book. It's, in fact, her favorite book. How c...

None of John Irving's novels have touched me as much as much as this one, and if you ask me, his work went drastically down hill after he wrote this. You can read my review here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2014/08/04/john-irvings-masterpiece/
