This is the first introduction that the world had to Sherlock Holmes and it seems it is here that Doyle developed the style that he used in his later books (and short stories). The first half has the problem being presented to Holmes and then in the second half Holmes unravels the mystery. However, ...

Although Watson refers to his roommate as "fellow-lodger" -in and of itself a reason to love it- I'm afraid Sherlock Holmes is not for me.

I have been doing some reading on the Kindle app on my phone while I rock my daughter to sleep. I've managed to get through the first of the 'Sherlock Holmes" novels, A Study in Scarlet. I won't do a proper review because Arthur Conan Doyle's work is too long established as classic for my opinion ...
